However, before you can use the Digi SM-300 scale, you need to program it according to your needs and preferences. Programming the scale involves setting up the password, the date and time, the departments, the PLUs, the labels, and other features. This might sound complicated, but don't worry. In this article, we will show you how to program a Digi SM-300 scale in a simple and clear way.

Step 1: Setting Up the Password

The first step in programming the Digi SM-300 scale is to set up the password. The password is a four-digit code that allows you to access the program mode and protect your settings from unauthorized changes. To set up the password, follow these steps:

  • Press the CLEAR key to exit the clock setting mode.

Step 3: Setting Up the Departments

The third step in programming the Digi SM-300 scale is to set up the departments. The departments are categories of products that have similar characteristics, such as price, tax rate, label format, etc. The Digi SM-300 scale can have up to 99 departments. To set up the departments, follow these steps:

  • [...]

Step 4: Setting Up the PLUs

The fourth step in programming the Digi SM-300 scale is to set up the PLUs. The PLUs are the individual products that you want to weigh, print, and label. The Digi SM-300 scale can store up to 10,000 PLUs in its memory. To set up the PLUs, follow these steps:

  • Press the PROG key on the keyboard. The display will show PASSWORD.

  • Enter your password using the numeric keys and press the ENTER key.

  • The display will show CLOSING & REPORT. Press the CLEAR key until you see PLU SETTING.

  • Press the ENTER key to enter the PLU setting mode.

  • The display will show PLU SETTING - PLU NO. Enter the PLU number that you want to program using the numeric keys. For example, if you want to program PLU 1, enter 00001.

  • Press the ENTER key to confirm the PLU number. The display will show PLU SETTING - DEPT NO.

  • Enter the department number that you want to assign to the PLU using the numeric keys. For example, if you want to assign PLU 1 to department 1 (Fruits), enter 01.

  • If you want to enter a fixed price for the PLU, enter it using the numeric keys. For example, if you want to set the price for Apple as $0.50 per piece, enter 0500.

  • If you want to use a variable price for the PLU, press the CLEAR key. The display will show VARIABLE PRICE (0.000).

  • If you want to use a weight-dependent price for the PLU, press the CLEAR key again. The display will show Kg PRICE (0.000).

  • If you want to use a weight-dependent price for the PLU, enter it using the numeric keys. For example, if you want to set the price for Apple as $2.00 per kg, enter 2000.

  • Press the ENTER key to confirm the price. The display will show TARE WEIGHT (0.000).

  • If you want to enter a tare weight for the PLU, enter it using the numeric keys. The tare weight is the weight of the container or packaging that is subtracted from the gross weight of the product. For example, if you want to set the tare weight for Apple as 0.01 kg, enter 010.

  • If you don't want to enter a tare weight for the PLU, press the CLEAR key.

  • Enter the label size using the numeric keys. The label size is measured in millimeters and consists of two digits for the width and two digits for the length. For example, if you want to use a label size of 58 mm x 40 mm, enter 5840.

  • Press the ENTER key to confirm the label size. The display will show LABEL FORMAT SETTING - PRINTING AREA (MM).

  • Enter the printing area using the numeric keys. The printing area is measured in millimeters and consists of two digits for the width and two digits for the length. The printing area must be smaller than or equal to the label size. For example, if you want to use a printing area of 56 mm x 38 mm, enter 5638.

  • Press the ENTER key to confirm the printing area. The display will show LABEL FORMAT SETTING - PRINTING POSITION (MM).

  • Enter the printing position using the numeric keys. The printing position is measured in millimeters and consists of two digits for the horizontal distance and two digits for the vertical distance from the top left corner of the label. For example, if you want to use a printing position of 1 mm x 1 mm, enter 0101.

  • Press the ENTER key to confirm the printing position. The display will show LABEL FORMAT SETTING - PRINTING DENSITY (0-15).

Enter the printing density using

the numeric keys. The printing density is a number from 0 to 15 that determines how dark or light
